Off My Trolley…With Gratitude!

Blog of the Year Award 1 star jpeg

Life is a funny thing, isn’t it? For years I’ve been procrastinating, ruminating, contemplating about starting a blog. What would I write? Would anyone care? Would the inspiration ever be there? Or would it fade as swiftly as it came? Would people get bored if it little varied, if it stayed the same? Fairly laboured maybe, but accurate. Still, nevertheless, and notwithstanding these misgivings, on June 6th, 2013, I embarked upon an intrepid journey that has reshaped my thinking, my musings, my writing, and, if truth be told, my entire life, because on that day I launched Booknvolume. BnV. The Book and Volume of This Distracted Globe. (that being the full title of this, otherwise, non-descript little blog)

In the months that have passed I have come to the irrepressible conclusion that it was the smartest thing I’ve done in a long time. And, although I’ve slept a lot less since that fateful day (as I ever seem to hit my literary stride after 10pm!) I’ve also written more than I ever have and I’ve met so many extraordinary people that I could not name them all. However, I certainly shall try!

One of the most extraordinary is Patty at http://petitemagique.wordpress.com/ She is ever supportive, ever thoughtful, and her magic poetry and beautiful blog is one I visit every day. In her generosity and friendship, Patty has nominated me for the most amazing award I could ever dream to receive. The 2013 Blog of the Year Award! To say that I am amazed and honoured, would surely be understating the matter. To say that I threw my hands up in the air and let out a high pitched squeal of joy would be getting closer to the truth. To say that I cannot describe my astonishment and gratitude in receiving a blog of the year award when my blog, in all truth, is less than 6 months old is right on the money.

Nevertheless, Patty has given this indescribable decoration to me (as well as to several other amazing bloggers, too!) and I shall do my utmost to live up to her high praise. This is a very special award because there are in fact stars to collect on the prize. Starting out, you will receive the ’1 star’ award:

Every time you are given the award by another blog- you can add another star! There are, in fact, a total of 6 stars to collect. This means you can pay tribute to your favorite blogs and, even if they have already been given the award by someone else, you can still bestow the prize again to help them reach the maximum of 6 stars! (Swapping out badges as you go, and adding a star each time you receive an additional nomination.)
You can find all the badges, banners and information you need via this link: http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/blog-awards-2-/blog-of-the-year-2013-award/

The Rules for this Award are:
1-Select the blog(s) you think deserve the Blog Of The Year 2013 Award.
2-Write a post about the blog(s) you have chosen (there are no minimum or maximum number of blogs required) and ‘present’ the blog(s) with their award.
3-Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the instructions with them- (please don’t alter the instructions or the badges!)
4-Come over and say hello to the originator of the Blog Of The Year 2013 Award via this link:http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/blog-awards-2-/blog-of-the-year-2013-award/
5-You can now also join the Blog Of The Year Award Facebook Page. Click the link here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BlogoftheYear to share your blog posts with an even wider audience.
6-Finally, as a winner of the award, please add a link back to the blog that presented you with this award-and then proudly display the award on your blog- and start collecting stars!

  3. That is awesome Morgan. I am so happy for you on getting The Blog of The Year 2013 Award. I know I always enjoy what you write and hope one day I will also be granted the award.
Just knowing I get 10 or more new followers a day is enough for me now and I am very proud of the many awards Totally Inspired Mind: Where Positive Minds Congregate has won.
I read a lot and am always trying to improve my writing style.
    Cheers and congratulations.
