How this Heart Longs for Thy Tender Touch!
Bejeweled Night in All her Splendour
Lays as fallow, barren dust
In comparison to Thy Most Gentle Caress!
How this Heart heaves in Sighs for Thy Lingering Gaze!
The Depths of Calypso’s Resplendent Abyss
Are but transitory shoal,
Beside the Majesty of Thy most Fleeting Glance!
Oh Most Protracted Sigh,
And tell of this poor Heart’s Sweet Longing,
Beguiled and Unbending
To the Ravages of Inopportune Time,
Hold Fast, Sweet Longing!
Hold Fast and Keep Thy Measure
Knowing This Hour of forlorn division
Is but one Ephemeral Moment,
Compared to the Eternity of Thy Love

Breathtaking Music: Lament by Patrick Cassidy
Where the Sky Bends
There Lies Pale Truth
Beyond the Parallels
Where Mystery Sings
Amidst the Breath of Time
The Heart Remembers
Amidst All the Madness
Where Memory Lies
I wrote this poem using a form of my own making (I think!) When reading the poem, read the first line, then read the first line into the second. Reading the second line into the third and the third line into the fourth. Meaning: There, There Where the Sky Bends, Where the Sky Bends Limitless, Limitless Where…etc.
I love the repetitious nature of the form. I think it exemplifies the powerful emotion in the poem and how our own thoughts often go round in circles when we are so strongly led by emotion.
What do you think? Im looking for some honest feedback…and, if you feel so creative, perhaps a name for this form/format, because I’ll be writing more. Perhaps you’d like to write one as well 🙂
Thank You Ever So for your Kind involvement and feedback. It means a great deal!

Speak not when this pale shallow glass
Shall fall in broken shale upon the floor,
Scattering winsome Laughter as Seasons pass,
Whispering in Retrospect, More and More.
Like Fallen Roses in the Burgeoning Rush of May,
When Petals Glisten and Drop in Heavy Balm,
This Passion, Once Remembered, forgets to Play,
And Now sits brooding, Silent in the Broken Calm.
Transparent and Untended in the Willow-ribbon haze,
This Mirror of True Love, now Tarnished Lies,
Reflecting Naught but my Own Shifting Gaze,
While Memory Above the Void, Unraveled, Flies.
Now as the Darkness Seeps and Sinks Around,
My Yearning Heart Strains to Hear Your Songs Sweet Sound.

How does a painter express to someone who is not very creative exactly how painting makes him feel; how it satisfies the soul and makes the heart pound with joy?
How might a musician explain to someone who cannot hear what it is about music that moves her so completely; that reaches into the soul to stir thoughts and emotions?
How does the writer or poet describe to the non-writer the exhilarating, inescapable delirium of passion and emotion that words creates within them?
For me, it is exactly this and so much more.
Oh Beautiful Bountiful Words,
Lilting Above these shadows,
With Music as fine as any Birds,
Amidst Smiling Rays of Light to Soar,
O Sing Sweetly, Ever More!
Kiss my head
Oh Delicious Delicate Phrases,
Spiraling in Ecstasy O’er this dark place,
Enchanting my Heart like Praises
Beguiling to the very Core,
O Kiss Me Sweetly Ever More!
Caress my Mind
Lush Treasure Trove of Verse,
Abundant as morning dew,
Into your Splendor, My Soul Submerse;
Wash upon this Endless Shore
O Caress me Sweetly Ever More!

On Honey toned skin
Blush of Intrepidity
And Fervent Desire
Ignite Dulcet Fire
Piercing into me
As the soft shadows fall
And the willows Breathe amid the Song of the nightingale,
Come to me, my Love,
Lay down with me
Among the auburn Trance of Tenderest firelight;
Slowly close Your eyes,
That ever Entrance me with the Intensity of their Beauty,
Allow my words spill over You,
Soft Whispers of my Love
To Entice and Tease
To Caress and Please;
Allow the emotion Waiting deep within my breast
To Lavish You
Touching and Beguiling
As I watch Your lips, Smiling,
Hinting at the Fervor
As the river of night expands
And the singers of velveteen hours
Serenade these moonlit waves of Indigo Bliss;
Come to me, my Love,
Rest within the Embrace of my Softest Sighs
As a Lingering Delirium
Of honeyed words and claret phrases
Intoxicate Your Passion,
And Share all the Secrets
Of my Love for You.

Delight wreathed the shadows of the morning like fluttering curtains on the dancing breeze. Under the balm of the waking sun, we closed our eyes and sighed, luxuriating in the warmth surrounding us, within and without. Delight had never been more palpable or surreal, nor had you, my ethereal love!

The Delicious Glimmer
Amid the shadows of your gaze,
Like Sweet, Enrapturing moonlight spilling from the velvet sky,
Intoxicating, Heart and Soul,
Each breath Lush Divinity,
Each sigh Purest Praise
Falling from my lips,
A cascading torrent of Love’s Desire

Sharp as azurine ice, his gaze penetrated me; a radiant blaze of cerulean enchantment I could not escape. As intoxicating as fine wine, his stare ensnared me and I was forever his. Yet, forever wasn’t long, for even as my soul melted into his, he smiled; then bared his teeth.

Span the Night with Singing Stars
Sweeping their Melody through the Smitten Sky;
Caress the Edge of Night with the Glimmer of Dawn,
Aching to Touch his Distant Lover
Who Sails the Velveteen Nighttide
Upon her Celestial Galleon, Fair;
Play a Symphony of Sound and Silence
Through All of Nature,
Ever Loving Thee,
And my Love Shall Finally Have Expression,
Filled with Suitable Beauty to Extol Thee,
Painted with Apt Hues and Shades of Adoration,
Serenading the Heavens with the Smallest Portion
Of My Love.

I hear Your voice,
Sweet, Alluring, Delicious;
And My body quivers,
a Willow in November wind;
I have no choice.
I hear You breathe,
Hushed and Rhythmic, Unconscious Seduction;
And My lips tremble,
betraying the Sweet Obsession
that lies underneath.
I feel Your Guile
Measured, Purposeful, Deliberate Plea;
And My eyes close,
Pulse Races and Reticence Scatters;
I see You Smile
As Ecstasy Unfolds.
This poem is a re-run of a collaboration with Kim of Peace, Love and Patchouli blog . If you haven’t read her Beautiful poetry before, I strongly recommend visiting her blog, filled with the most lyrical phrases, delicate verses, profound notions wrapped in ethereal prose and lovely photography and artwork. This is what drew me in when I first met Zippy, as I call her (derived from the Infinite Zip screen name she uses) and what keeps me coming back for more and more and more. I hope you enjoy our collaboration, which seemed perfect for Romantic Tuesday.
Eyes that smolder, drawing you in
the teasing smile like a sensual sin
she gazes through, lights your soul on fire
as your thoughts burn like a funeral pyre,
her skin so smooth, so silky light
and you want it so much, this lovely delight.
Her words capture you, a sweet southern drawl
on hands and knees you’d surely crawl
to touch this maidens soft pale skin
your fingers run down as you begin
to trace her back like a delicate dance
lost in the moment of this romance.
Beguiling words to quench your thirst
for lust and life she will come first
to weave her magic on a poor souls heart
you never want to be swept apart
this wild hearted woman with a wanton need
will claim your soul, on this she’ll feed
and take you to the dream you crave
for her you’d be her beckoned slave.
She is the master of such desire
a sultry mistress you’ll never tire
as she leads you to her chamber door,
Oh God, you think…I must have more.
Awake amidst the Morning’s shimmer,
Glimmer Smiling upon your Skin,
Begin the day with Love Beguiling,
Smiling to know the quandary we’re in!
Beyond the Whispers, Silent as Prose,
Rose Red Morning lifts her Gaze,
Haze of Passion Softly Singing,
Bringing Mischief to these weary Days!
Oh My Love, Before you Leave me,
Be my All one Moment More,
Implore from me my Heart’s Desire,
Fire Kissing a Boundless Shore!
Clandestine Love, Immortal Treasure,
Amidst stolen Moments of Exquisite Pleasure!
You come to me
Deliberate and gentle
In my weakest moment
You gather me close
Skin touching skin
Please, let us begin.
Passion fills the air around
Touch me now,
Don’t let me down
I am filled
My cup overflowing
You are all I desire,
With you my soul is on fire
As we are love inspiring
Take me now,
One more time.

She stands in Silence
‘Neath Eaves of Fragrant Balm,
Her Thoughts a tangle
Of chaotic Calm,
Stillness around her
In frenzy Waits
As others Conspire and
Devise her Fate.
Lost in the Shadows
Of Brazen Extravagance,
Beyond the Illusion of
Morality or Sense,
The Dragon Hovers
Awaiting her Chance,
Dreaming of Freedom,
And Tender Romance.

This Joy Stands Testament to what my Heart Feels,
To the Simple Truth that makes my Senses Reel,
Tumbling Over in the Stirring Calm,
Living Quietly as Treasured Balm,
Soft in the Silence its Voice is Heard
Speaking the Priceless, Unspoken Word;
The Word I can neither Deny nor Refute,
That Whispers from the Stillness of my Heart,

You Are for Me,
I am For You,
Is Ever True;
Waiting cannot Shake
The Strength of my Conviction,
You are Love,
You are Desire,
You are My Heart’s
Through this Portal of Time,
Singing Sweetly Our Rhyme!
