Treasure-Sonnet I

.

Speak not to me in Glimmering Shades of Night,
When Night is Pale and Dims the Candle’s Glow,
But Walk with me in Bounteous Joy of Light,
Where Better This Fair Love to Mark and Show.
Touch not my Lips with Your most Beautiful Kiss,
When Jocund Day strides, waking, ‘cross the land,
But in the Calm of Evening err my Heart can Miss
The Gentle Touch of Your Desire and Your Hands.
While Singing Greets the Lavish Mornings Shimmer,
And Confusion in my mind Begins its wail,
Take my Love’s Possession, As Treasure’s Glimmer,
Where All Treasure by comparison does Pale.
For when Sweet Love in Union Binds Our Bliss,
All Other mortal Treasure Falls Amiss.

Beyond the barren, desperate plains,
The Weary, Calling to Heaven from earth;
Countless generations Cry in pain,
Breathlessly Awaiting a Royal Birth.
Light and Liberty, Outward Reaching,
Through all the years of Tribulation;
Prophets, Wisdom Gently Speaking,
Foretell Celestial Jubilation.
Across the skies of Darkness, Reaching
Down from Heaven on Bending Wing;
Love Imbued with Harmony, Teaching,
As Vast Choirs of Angels, Triumphantly Sing.
“Lift up your eyes with Joy, not Fear,
For Blessed Love Draws Gently Near.”

Star

Unto those mortals, meek and lowly,
Watching o’er their flocks by night;
Heralding a Birth, Humble and Holy,
Love Shines forth in a New Star’s Light.
Amidst sheep and cattle, quietly Attending,
Laid to sleep within a manger there;
While Praises through the bleak night, Ascending,
Mark the poor and modest Gloriously Fair.
Finding the Child in Bethlehem’s stall,
Humble Shepherds Bow to an Infant King,
Where Heaven, Bending to Bless one and All,
Smiles, while Angels a Lullaby Sing.
God’s own Child sent to Lead and Heal,
God’s Love and Grace, In Flesh Made Real.

Tapestry

The Shape and Majesty of the Luminous Night,
Sings Splendid Vision to my Questing Sight,
Ever Calling to my Longing Gaze,
In Shifting Shadow and Spectral Haze,
While Diamonds Gleam from Distances Immense,
And my Fair Imagination is Drawn Hence,
To Tumble O’re Nebulae and Comet’s Tails,
To Float in Glimmering Silence as it Sails,
Throughout the Heaven’s Vast, Into my Mind,
Conspiring with Eloquence in Vivid Kind,
To Shake and Shimmer in Ebon Tapestry,
Where All Creation Dances in Glorious Soliloquy,
Until Time Itself Unravels, Until Eternity Unwinds,
Lifting from this Heathen Murk, Paradise, At Last, To Find.

Breath Beguile

Breath Beguile the Wordless Thought
Of All I Fear to Never Say,
While Heart, unfettered, Sighs and Stops,
Kneeling in Spirit, Long to Pray.
Beguiled of Art, These Charms you employ,
Sweet Supposition of guilty Pleasure,
But Standing Mute, as Others Enjoy,
Breaking Heart, which Longs for Treasure!
Treasure as Pure as Passing Fair,
Expressed in Sighs, Profound and Long,
Betray How Greatly One Heart Might Care,
Singing together, One Harmonious Song.
Breath Beguile this Unspoken Thought,
Beguiled I Breathe, Uncaptured, yet Caught!

Subdued Night

Shiver with Me in the Subdued Night,
As Breaths of Midnight Turn Softly Round,
Dream in the Satin Ebon Light
Of Eternity Singing without a Sound.
Tremble Beside me in the Delicate Hush
Of Twilight Painted in Lavender Tone,
Linger with me Beyond Life’s Pale Rush,
Amidst the Shadows, Together, Alone.
Sigh with me in Harmonious Song,
Of Gentle Splendors Unknown by Day,
Gild in Romance what E’re stood wrong,
With Your Exquisite Hands, Brush Cares Away.
Dappled Moonlight Around Us Dance,

Upon the morning stirs her Shimmering Light

As nighttide sleeps the Daytide Smiles;

Proclamation of Engendered Treasure

Beyond the compulsion of pretense and guile.

Untamed the Morning Sings a Blazing Song,

A harp string Reverberating loud;

Unmerited , we watch with shaded eyes

As Creation wakes and Smiles proud.

Listen then, if Breath be in your soul

And let the Music of her Smile Shine;

No other Serenade is as Glorious,

Nor like to Reach within and then Entwine!

With Life and Luster the Morning Radiantly Glows,

Stirring ethereally what seldom shows!

Before the waking hour of morning Sighs,

Before the Moonspun night undoes her hair,

Between the shades of Winsome darkness lies

The blushing rose of Passion’s Touch, so Fair;

Upon Your cheek as youth’s most Handsome Glow;

Within Your gaze Aflame with Tender Hue;

Upon Your lips where honeyed words Enthroned

Spin magic, Oh So Sweetly to Undo!

Unspoken, this True Sentiment is Treasure;

Untouched, this Yearning waits with brazen sighs;

No exclamation loud could closely Measure

Splendor and Might Upon the Wing,
Entrance my Heart with Ethereal Things;
Conspire with Dreams, Vast as the Ocean,
Soaring in Majestic, Effortless Motion.
Triumphant Splendor, Entreat with Guile,
Heartbeats pounding all the While;
Imperial Might in Golden Guise,
Ancient Insight, Fearsome and Wise.
Mighty Lion of Draconic Grandeur,
Glorious before this pale raconteur;
Sovereign of Legends Olde,
Essence Embodying these Fantasies Told,
Blaze Your Fire, Sing Hearty and Strong,

Contemplation

When Longing Keeps my eyes Awake by Night,
And Yearning Makes sleep false By Blushing Day,
What Else Might I Enact that Might Seem Right,
To Subsist Through Aching Hours, But to Pray?
What Heavy Moments Cheating me of Rest!
What Tiring Instance Slumbers with Brazen Time,
To Conspire with this Pining in my Breast,
And, Discordant, makes the clock’s Jubilant Chime.
While All Else Sleep, Gaze I, Sullen, at the Moon,
My Dreams Perplexed by Hunger, Never Tiring,
Wondering if Time shall ever Meet Love’s Swoon?
To Eros’s Passion Our Flesh Ever Aspiring?
This Single Question Keeps my Body Waking,
This Contemplation, Ever, My Heart Breaking.

Whisper, Dearest, in the Sparkling Night,
Like Satin Song, Entice my Heart,
In Softest Tone Make this Dimness Bright
Where Shadows, Glimmering, Stand Apart.
Whisper, Love, In Starlight Glowing,
A Song of Enchantment to my Soul,
Like Breath of Heaven, Sweetly Flowing,
Making this Deep Ocean Shoal.
Whisper, Beloved, a Sanctified Treasure,

The Infinite Abyss

Shall All my Love be Crossed in bitter wailing
When in the Depths of Time I lose Your Hand;
Falling from the Cradle of Our Sailing,
Where on our Ship of Dreams We Stood in Command?
Shall All my Hopes be Dashed against cruel shores,
When, plummeting to Earth, we Lose Our clasp
Upon the Tender Thread, along which, Pours,
The Strength and Vigor of Our Loving Grasp?
Where Night turns to Day and Day succumbs to Night,
Our Love yet tumbles in the Infinite Abyss
Of Watchful Souls, gently putting to Rights
All that Was and All that, Lingering, Is.
Still, I see the Memory of Our Timeless Love Affair
Glimmering in the Depths of Your Most Beguiling stare!
