I’ve been unusually quiet for atypically long, and I am truly sorry.  Believe me, I miss stopping by, seeing your posts, chatting with my friends, but the maddening rush of life has been more than customarily maddeningly lately and in the few brief moments of calm I manage to squeeze in, I have been focusing on my latest Work In Progress, a Jane Austin-esque Romance now well over 150,000 words!! PHEW!!!  AND to top that off, I am working on moving at the end of this month…so needless to say, the hush shall continue for a short while to come.

Still, to my absolute Delight……Booknvolume has reached two additional Milestones: over 18,000 followers and over 240,000 visits world-wdie!

Flabbergasted? who me?  Yep!  Gobsmacked and Off-my-trolley Chuffed?  Uh-Huh!

Who knew, when I first started out, that the words would come so prolifically or that so many would find my particular brand of verbosity appealing, interesting or, at the very least, bizarre enough to warrant a few return visits 🙂 Regardless of the reasons, however, Please Please allow me to take this opportunity, on this Thankful Thursday, to say how much YOU mean to me, How much your Support and Appreciation of what I offer here makes me smile and continues to Inspire me.

As I said in my very first post : So there you are and here I am, two partners in time; one sharing, one gaining (little or nothing, but perhaps at least a smile…if I am successful) giving and receiving, for better or for worse….(yes, I see the direction this metaphorical segment is taking and I would break off, but where this is going illustrates so well another of my quirks, which is, though I hate to admit it, that I do tend to find meaning in even the simplest things)…so to get back to my metaphor… if you think about it, being a writer and a reader is rather like being in a relationship ( I was going to use the M word, but we barely know each other yet). There’s good, there’s bad, there’s mutual intrigue, there are laughs and tears, arguments and betrayals of one form or another, but in the end, it’s generally worthwhile. (there, that wasn’t too bad, was it?)

And Thanks to you, this relationship continues, the Inspiration flows on and, hopefully, so too does the laughter! So For YOU! My Dear Sweet WordPress Family:

OH How the Surprise of Tears come,
Rushing in on my Poise and Certainty
When Such a Warm and Delicate Touch
As Your words and support,
In Delight of Mine,
Causes the Moon to Shiver,
The Sun to Shine
Without the Simplest Enticement or Lure!
My Thanks, Seemingly Paltry,
Yet Honest and Pure,
Rings True and Clear as the Song of the lark,
For Ever Do I Receive This Honor
With More Gratitude of Thought and Feeling
Than My Language or Heart Can Sweetly Express.

I’ve been unusually quiet for atypically long, and I am truly sorry.  Believe me, I miss stopping by, seeing your posts, chatting with my friends, but the maddening rush of life has been more than customarily maddeningly lately and in the few brief moments of calm I manage to squeeze in, I have been focusing almost entirely on writing book three of the Dark Fey trilogy:  Breaking Into The Light.  As a result, I am now within 2 chapters of completion !! YAY 🙂   True, a final review/revision/edit always follows that momentous event, but my publisher is already working on the cover so I’ve got an official deadline.  Needless to say, the hush shall continue for a short while to come; yet to my absolute Delight……Booknvolume has reached two additional Milestones: over 17,000 followers and over 4000 posts!

Flabbergasted? who me?  Yep!  Gobsmacked and Off-my-trolley Chuffed?  Uh-Huh!

You may have already noticed, or perhaps not, on weekends I am rather quiet (well, as quiet as I can manage to be, given we are talking about ME). Though this has been occurring for some time now, I thought, perchance, a smidgen of explanation might be in order (though many of you, once reading this, will smile, agree, and otherwise nod your head, saying to yourself “I knew that already”) (and if that is the case, then I Thank You and apologize for, here, stating the obvious).

Weekends for me are rather busy, as I am certain they are for you as well, which leaves precious little time for writing, let alone finding time to stop in to all my favourite blogs, read what you’ve offered and add a smiling comment (or six, depending). You may have experienced the same difficulty now and again; nevertheless, and otherwise notwithstanding, I should like to clarify that, although I may be a somewhat silent reader on the weekends, I assure you, I am still here, fluttering around.

Typically during the week I have time to stop in and make comments; while on the weekends, I tend to scroll through the WP Reader and hit LIKE a lot. This may offend some people with the misconception that a Comment-less Like is impersonal and detached, and, although I agree somewhat with that notion, I also rarely have time to do more. (Life switches into super-sonic on the weekends rather than merely High Gear during the week, while I try to squeeze in as much fun and writing time as possible in the midst of cleaning, running errands, and the like) (I’m sure you’ve suffered the same phenomenon once or twice, haven’t you?)

Thus, although on the weekends I may simply LIKE what you’ve offered and you may not SEE me in your comments field, please please PLEASE do know that my Like is more akin to an “AWESEOME”, “I Love this!”, “This Rocks!”, or “This is Truly Beautiful!” rather than merely a simple “Yeah, Hi, Hello, LIKE, see ya!” and of course, each Like that I click is similarly connected to a “Blessings Dear Friend!”, “Happiness and Joy!”, or “Bless You This Sweet Day~” kindly felt and thought.

In addition to this, I would also like to take this moment redundancy (but hopefully not futility!) to once again Thank all my marvelous Guest Bloggers, who help to fill in the gaps on the weekends and HOPEFULLY also provide some much needed diversity to BnV.  Thank You to They who make my silence less silent!!  (OH, and if you should feel yourself inclined to Guest Blog via BnV please feel free to contact me!)

So, in closing, I hope you will look with a gentle heart upon my weekend Likes, when they occur, with an enhanced understanding and, perhaps, greater patience; knowing that, while I have said little, my Heart is Smiling and my Spirit is Ever Thankful for All of You!

Taking Stock With Heartfelt Appreciation (and Excitement)

I wanted to take a moment to say Thank You, Truly, Thank You from my Heart

This is not a post about me blowing my own horn or singing my own accolades, I promise.  It’s me taking the very Important time to Realize and Appreciate all the blessings that have come my way in just one year.

A month or so back I posted an invitation to vote for Dark Fey The Reviled, which was up for commendation through Golden Box Books Publishing Reader’s Choice Award. Yesterday I was excited and thoroughly delighted to learn that, with YOUR help and Kind votes, The Reviled received that award and has been advanced to the finalist stage.

This award has truly made me Pause to take stock of all that has happened in this past year.  So often Blessings come along and we take them for granted, as well as those persons who helped make them possible.  So I wanted to take this opportunity to Thank YOU, as well as the Source of All Blessings, for every Amazing and Joyfully tearful moment I have enjoyed this year.

In March my life-long Dream of being published came true when I was accepted by Creativia Publications.  Both book covers got a facelift and throughout the year sales have increased beyond my expectations.

Throughout the year, Dark Fey and I have been featured on numerous websites and blogs, including interviews by notable authors Stevie Turner and Lit World Interviews; the well-known Novel Writing Festival; Interview and Book Review by Author Lisa Haselston; Character Focus/Spotlights by Author Brittany Willows as well as Roari Benjamin; and Interviews with notable author Aurora Jean Alexander

In April I was accpeted into the Poetry Society of America

In May Dark Fey The Reviled attained a 5-Star Reader’s Favorite Review and Recommendation

In June Dark Fey Standing In Shadows attained a 5-Star Reader’s Favorite Review and Recommendation

In June I was also accepted as a contributing author by My Trending Stories.com

In August Dark Fey The Reviled won the 2016 New Apple Literary Book Award for Excellence in Fantasy 

and Throughout the year Dark Fey The Reviled, as well as Standing In Shadows have gained marvelous 4 and 5 Star reviews on Amazon.

To say that I am Thankful, Grateful, Appreciative and Overwhelmed would be an understatement proportionate to saying the Antarctic is a tropical climate, but not taking time to SAY Thank You would be even more grievous, at least in my book(nvolume).

Everything I need

Holidays are definitely marvelous and vacations are wonderful and time away to reboot, re-energize and recharge is stupendous, but nothing…nothing I tell you…absolutely nothing, beats the soul-warming embrace of friends.  Friends like YOU, who continue to visit even while I am not; Friends who brings smiles to my heart even if they have no idea they are doing it.  Friends Like YOU!

I simply had to pop by and tell you how much it means to me to see your comments and know that you are enjoying what I set up to be shared while I was/am away, so you know I am thinking about you and hoping you had and are still having a Beautiful holiday season, and most Importantly to tell you how much I appreciate YOU.

I am truly Blessed!  Blessed with Friends who are beyond compare and ‘followers’ (though I hate that word because really, you’re ALL Friends!) that are open to all the crazy notions I have.  YOU my dear friends mean the world to me and I Appreciate So Very Much how you support me and all my ventures.

I Also want to Thank my Guest Bloggers who have been helping to ‘fill in the gaps of silence’ on the weekends so I might take time away from BooknVolume in order to continue working on Dark Fey book three. (nope, no promotion intended).  I think they have been offering a wonderful variety of inspirational and beautiful material and I certainly hope YOU feel the same and have been well entertained by the addition of their voices to BnV.

So Thank You ALL of You 🙂  I do truly appreciate YOU and even in the hush when I am away, I am mindful of how fortunate I truly am.  Blessings to you in this Beautiful Season of Joy and Light.

I had to take a moment out of my day to offer what seems to me to be an entirely insignificant, yet wholly Heartfelt THANK YOU!!!! Today I reached a milestone I truly never imagined when I began this blog a smidgen over 2 years ago. I want to express how astonished I still am, how BLESSED I feel and how Immensely, Enormously, Vastly I Appreciate each and every one of you, but how precisely does one express a sensation that is as close to inexpressible and unfathomable as I have ever experienced? Because Today, in spite of my abundantly verbose inclinations (or perhaps because of them) I not only surpassed 100,000 views, but tipped the scales to 10K1 followers.

As I sit staring at the stats in mind-numbing silence, be Absolutely CERTAIN, YOU are the ones who have made this possible and I am entirely aware of it.

First Shipment

I would very much like to say THANK YOU EVER SO to everyone who helped me make this moment possible. So many of you Encouraged, Inspired, and Supported me as a new blogger and when I was posting “Dark Fey The Reviled” onto the blog in weekly posts. So many of you Shared insights, Freely gave tips and suggestions, and prompted me into action when I stood uncertain and you may not realize the Impact those actions have had on my life, but this moment, this Over-the-Top, I’m-on-Cloud-TEN, Indescribable moment is due in part to YOU.

Thank You may sound pat. Thank You Ever So, though it has become rather my thing to say, may not sound much more heartfelt (after having said it, literally, hundreds of times), but at this moment, although words are my best friends, I am rather at a loss and these few words are all I can think to say.

First Set

Having ordered 25 copies to share and sign for those who are interested (and having wondered HOW I would ever sell all 25!) I sit here (at my laptop) in amazement and inexpressible joy. I’ve only just opened the box, taken the books out, placed them neatly so I can snap a few pictures, posted an announcement or two and BEHOLD! Blessing of All Blessings!! Joy of Greatest Joy! Blow West wind

Leaves are falling from the Sky
Through the warm Summer breeze
With a Silent cry,
Capturing my Imagination,
I look up into the Emerald trees,
Enjoying the fresh Sensation;
Autumn Tumbling from the Sky
Into the Evening breeze
With a Joyous cry,

A Rose by Any Other Name would Smell as Sweet,
Such it is with Precious Friends as well.

For in the months since I began Booknvolume, I have been amazed, astonished, delighted, moved to tears, shared laughter, shared memories, and found myself far more inspired than I ever dreamed I might.
