Silent I Stand

Amidst the Ruins of Time,

I could shatter and break,

I could crumble and whine into the bleakness,

Blame, rant, retaliate, hate,

Or

I Can Lift my head,

Choose to Smile,

Breathe in the Fresh Cold Air,

And Lay Aside this melancholy

As One removes a cloak after coming in from the Cold;

Walking into the Light,

Allowing it to Warm me Through and Through,

And not bewail this forlorn state.
