So to kick things off, in no particular order of preference, and without additional preface or prologue, I should like to Introduce you to Eve of Children of Light blog (found at: http://sathyasaimemories.wordpress.com ) Eve’s blog is beautiful (yes, that is a word I tend to use frequently; nonetheless, when it is true, few other words express the thoughts and emotions BEAUTIFUL relates so, well, Beautifully). One of the very first things I noticed when visiting her blog for the first time was this thoroughly Inspiring devotion:
Lord please, think through me.
Lord, please feel through me.
Lord, please act through me.
Lord, please love through me.
Lord, please breathe through me.
Now, regardless of your particular denomination or religious beliefs, I think it can easily be agreed that the sentiment behind these words is pure…yes…Beauty. They announce in perfectly clear tones the sort of person Eve is: A Child of Light. In her own words Eve shares these insights about herself and her life journey:
This blog/website began its life four years ago. Besides the Sai Baba stories and articles, I have added a broader range of material, prose, stories, bios, from all cultures/ religions, also many spiritual poems. The idea here is not to champion one Way over another, but to “Keep the Light” – ie to seek out the Light in whatever tradition or culture (or just in individuals) and enhance it…. A little about me. I’ve studied comparative religion, spent long gruelling spells in India, where book learning was put on the back burner, while the “real experiences” of letting go was beginning to take birth in my young soul. The teacher in India always said: “When the road ends and the goal is gained, the pilgrim finds that he has traveled only from himself to himself, that the way was long and lonesome, but the God that led him unto it was all the while in him, around him, with him, and beside him.” ~ He was so right.
Eve’s blog is also a treasure trove of stunning photography. Herein you shall find one small sample that showcases her skill: http://cameracatchs.wordpress.com/2014/03/06/to-keep-and-to-hold-memories
She also has links to a non-profit animal welfare site, which appeals to me greatly (adoring creation as I do). The quote she uses to introduce this website is also quite profound: “Love is present not only in human beings but also in all creatures, birds or beasts; nor is that all. It is in fact all pervasive. Love pervades everything in creation. Man’s humanness is vitiated when he fails to recognise this love.” – Sathya Sai Baba
Spirituality may not be your particular cup of tea, yet the information Eve offers and the fascinating insights she shares on her blog make it a wonderful place to visit, comment, share your own thoughts, and, hopefully, discover the Beauty of being a Child of Light. I hope you will pay her a visit.
