“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to set out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance; and he set out, not knowing where he was going.  By faith he stayed for a time in the land he had been promised, as in a foreign land, living in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.”       Hebrews 11:8-9

It was by faith that Abraham obeyed God.  It was by faith that Abel offered a more acceptable sacrifice to God.  It was by faith that Moses was hidden by his parents after his birth.  They knew there was something special about this child.  By faith.  How will your “by faith” read?  It was by faith…….What will you do?

It was by faith that Moses decided not to be part of the royal Egyptian family.  Instead he shared in the oppression of God’s people, the Hebrew slaves.  Moses wasn’t a saint.  He struck and killed an Egyptian, then fled for his life.

It was by faith, and a lot of reassurance from God, that Moses returned to Egypt to lead the Hebrews to the Promised Land.  Pharaoh increased their work, and the Israelites would not listen to him.  By faith, Moses persevered.  It took several plagues and the Passover to set the Israelites free.

God can do a lot through a person of faith.  Moses had struck a man down and wasn’t an eloquent speaker.  Only Christ’s and David’s names appear more often than Moses in the Bible.  How will your “by faith” read?
