Gaze long at me,
What do you See?
Enchantment or Sweet Mystery?
Elemental,
Born of Shale,
Walking in Gardens both Vivid and pale.
Reach for my Hand,
What will you Feel?
Waiflike Magic or what is Real?
Primordial as Sound
With Pulse Pounding,
Drifting through Deserts with echoes Resounding.
Listen Closely,
What might you Hear?
Alluring Whispers or Invocations Drear?
Proffering only
That which Appeals,
Shrouding All that the Mask Conceals?

Great writing, but for some reason I am fixed on that
“Born of Shale” phrase.

🙂 It started out born of dust, as in ashes to ashes, dust to dust, but Shale is far more poetic somehow 😉
