There does exist a Shangri La,
A Land of Prose and Promise;
Where it hides, not many know,
But if we did, would we all go?
Do the struggles and divesting,
All the horrors, lies and Pain,
Serve a Purpose, Meet some need,
Or are they just a form of Greed?
Pushing us after an abstract fancy,
Leading us down life’s bitter trails,
Do we ever lift our gaze
From the blighted, weary maze?
To See the Isle of Promise Bright,
Tempting us with Visions Fair,
Will we ever cross that threshold,
To find at our feet a Treasure of Gold?
