Ever Here 5

Stand With Me on this Sacred Ground,
Listen for Speakin’ that has no Sound,
Lockin’ the pain and misery away,
And I’ll Never, No I’ll Never Say,
This is the end, this day is too hard,
Gonna Keep my Place, Gonna Keep Standin’ Guard,
Standin’ on this Sacred Ground,
Mighty Lord, Ever Here Around.

WAR & CONFLICT BOOK ERA: CIVIL WAR/BACKGROUND: SLAVERY & ABOLITIONISM

Stand With me on this Fire and Straw,
Though I am filled with Mortal Flaws,
Pushin’ Through the anger and Pain,
Never Lookin’ at these rusting Chains,
And I’ll Never, No I’ll Never Say,
This is the end, This day is too Loud
Gonna Keep my Place, Gonna Keep Standin’ Proud,
Standin’ on this Sacred Ground,
Merciful Lord, Ever here Around.

Ever Here 4

Stand with me on this Battle Ground,
Holdin’ On to the Hope I Found,
Standin’ Tall, Though they push me down,
I may be covered in mud, But I’m wearin’ a Crown,
And I’ll Never, No I’ll Never Say,
This is the end, come and take me away,
Gonna Stand right here ‘til this wrong is Right,
Gonna Stand right here, Waitin’ in plain Sight,
So Stand With me on This Sacred Ground,
Saving Lord, Ever Here Around.
Ever Here Around.

This post was Inspired by the Fight for Freedom so powerfully exercised by Martin Luther King, Jr. and also, in part by the historical section of an Episode of Ghost Adventures on location at the Maysville Kentucky Underground Railroad Museum. Jerry Gore established an Underground Railroad Museum in Maysville, Kentucky, called Freedom Time. Mr. Gore has unearthed much of the Underground Railroad history of Maysville, Kentucky to Ripley, Ohio, across the Ohio River. He created Pictorial History of Maysville, Kentucky, Washington County and Ripley, Ohio. And he has brought all that he has learned to life by creating a Freedom Time Tour. As the Tour’s informational flier states, it allows you to “retrace the path to freedom for human justice and dignity and explore the secret hiding places and trails used by enslaved Africans and conductors of the Underground Railroad.” The Freedom Tour has had a major impact on students who have only read about the Underground Railroad. One Kentucky Education Association Diversity Committee Member reports that “Mr. Gore’s tour was life changing.”
