Though this is Wordless Wednesday, and as such, this post is, in theory, meant to be wordless, I cannot resist the compulsion to add the tumbling thoughts of my mind that are now insisting to be shared, though once I share them, you may, having read them, wish I had not or that you had not, (depending).

Such a simple image really, a soap bubble, popping, end of story. Not the end of the world, by any means, and certainly not the be-all and end-all of photography, (though decidedly impressive to be sure); yet, in considering the innocent bubble, floating along on its own, unobtrusive, unoffending (relatively speaking), minding it’s own business for all intents and purposes, only to find itself blinked out of existence in an infinitesimal second. It rather begs consideration, doesn’t it? Or at least, it begs mine.

How like we all, drifting along on our given trajectory, more or less unobtrusively (at least, hopefully), glimmering and glistering in the Light, growing in beauty as the moments tick by, never knowing, or, at the very least, not quite suspecting, that in the blink of an eye (or less, if that is feasible) all we know, all we hope and dream for and of, all that matters to us and all to whom we matter can, potentially, disappear.

I haven’t the slightest intention of becoming morose, no, no, no; that is not my intention. Never fear; still, at the risk of sounding paradoxically contrary and with my very next breath, (figuratively speaking), how brief and precious is this transitory existence, is it not? How blessedly simple it all becomes in that instance of a time before reality changes.

Having said all that, and before I say far more, I shall (to your palpable relief) sum up:

“And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything.”
William Shakespeare

  1. Shakespeare sums up a theme so well 🙂 I enjoyed your words of wisdom, each of them true and sincere. I try to stay in the moment and be thankful for what I have. It isn’t always easy – but I give it my best shot.
