Strawberry Pretzel Dream

You can make this delicious treat any time of the year, but it’s especially yummy in the summertime at a picnic or BBQ 🙂

2 cups crushed pretzels
¾ cup butter, melted
3 Tbsp. sugar
16 oz. whipped cream cheese, room temperature
1½ cups sugar
16 oz. cool whip, thawed to room temperature
1 (6 oz) box Strawberry Jello
2 cups boiling water
3 cups strawberries, sliced

Blend melted butter and sugar.
Stir in the crushed pretzels.
Press evenly on the bottom of a 9×13 pan.
Bake at 375 F for 8 minutes.
Let cool completely.

In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, and cool whip. Beat until smooth. Spread evenly over pretzel crust all the way to the edges.
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
Remove from stove and add Jello.
Stir until Jello is dissolved.
Add sliced strawberries and blend.
Allow to cool 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent set up of Jello
Pour over cream layer.
Refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving or overnight.

Sprinkle shaved chocolate or mini chocolate chips over top for an added treat.
