Storm is Raging

Storm is Raging

Storm is Raging
My Heart is Breaking
Silence is Shaking

Agony is Burning
Despair is Churning

Tears are Welling
Bitter Emotion Swelling
Despondency Piteously Yelling

While I Stand Mute

Breaths Heaving,
Broken and Grieving
From All your Thieving

Truth is Gauging
Storm is Raging.

So often we find ourselves victims of the carelessness of others, pushed aside, neglected, mistreated. This poem touches on those feelings of abandonment, and the small quiet way in which TRUTH reaches into our sorrow to coax us back out of the darkness.

  2. Absolutely stunning Morgan.
Gosh I hate that feeling! Thank God for the light! For me I feel like I was deceived by my own truth. Which is even harder to overcome. Because what is truth? Whose truth? Captivating image! I love the ornate leaves!

    1. I am so very glad you like it. This started out as rather a dark poem, but I re-read it and added the small paragraph at the end to highlight the, possibly, easily overlooked line “Truth is Gauging”, because I don’t prefer to write things that end sadly.

You are so right though…what is truth…and who’s truth is true?
