When Consequence of Action
Turns Justice to Illusion,
Humanity is forgotten
In the resulting Turmoil of Confusion.

When Justification argues
At the Expense of Honesty,
Compassion is called a liar
And suspicion falls on Sympathy.

When Retaliation Marches in
Where Angels fear to tread,
Loss blows swiftly on the Wind
And the Skies Fall on Our Heads.
