Divine Prayer

Here I am

Standing in utter sincerity

Naked as the day I was born

Look at me

Flawed, cracked and broken

No more than gathered particles of dust

This is me

With no place to hide

Undressed of my shadows, appearances and lies

In this complete and absolute humility

I stand vulnerable before your majesty and might

Hopeful before your infinite goodness and merciful light

My Beloved, sustain me

My soul is poor, malnourished and slowly dying

The abyss of unfulfillment is growing deeper inside

My heart is aching in its emptiness

Life is overwhelming me in its illusionary lies

I turn to your blessed face and in surrender I pray:

Cloak my nakedness with your unceasing love

Nourish my hunger with your everlasting light

And make me beautiful by your neverending grace

Breathe life into my soul
