Seasons

_MISSING_YOU__by_evol1314

The seasons alter: hoary-headed frosts
Fall in the fresh lap of the crimson rose,
And on old Hiems’ thin and icy crown
An odorous chaplet of sweet summer buds
Is, as in mockery, set. The spring, the summer,
The childing autumn, angry winter, change
Their wonted liveries, and the mazed world,
By their increase, now knows not which is which.
(A Midsummer Night’s Dream, 2.1.112-119)

  1. Beautiful description of the seasons. It makes the one I wrote a short while back look amateur by comparison. Mine even has a similar image. Great minds think alike, tis true, but you definitely have the upper hand on poetic expertise. Great piece.

    1. OH I do thank you so much, but I cannot in all honesty claim authorship of these remarkable words…they are by William Shakespeare from a Midsummer Night’s Dream. Nevertheless…thank You for your confidence in me 🙂

  2. LOL. Sheepish grin……How embarrassed I am. If I had paid closer attention I would have noticed the acknowledgement and credit to MSND. This Shakespeare guy writes well. Does he have a blog too? LOL. Just kidding. I feel so silly.
