Starlight Glistens Overhead
While Shepherds Gaze in Wonder
At Heaven Spreading ‘cross the Sky,
The Clouds with Glory rent Asunder.
Praises Raise in Jubilee
From Angelic Choirs Singing,
Hope and Peace to All Mankind,
A Precious Babe is Bringing.
Seek the Child, Faithfully,
In Lowly Manger Sleeping,
Where Cattle, Sheep and Donkey,
Humble Guard, Quiet are Keeping.
Pause and Wonder at this Sight,
This Child Sent to Lead and Heal,
Paradox of Countless Ages,
Heaven’s Love In Flesh Made Real.

have to agree with purple ray.
Interesting to note that until the birth of Jesus the BIble only refers to shepherds as rather less-than-useful characters – in the few times they are mentioned – but the coming of Jesus was for “all men”: the lowly shepherds and the rich, intelligent Magi.
No wish to become overly, pedantically religious here or , indeed sexist … “all men” relates to all of humankind.

Ever feel free to share your thoughts….I never mind 🙂 and I do think you are right. Amazing , yet not, that the Glory of the Lord was shared not with kings or the most wealthy of all, but the shepherds abiding in the fields. God Loves Us All So Much 🙂
