True Love

True Love

When this True Love at last Shall Meet with Fate,
And Our lives Merge, Unity in Perfection’s state,
‘Tis then my Spirit shall come to Know True Joy,
In lasting touches that Compel and do employ
Sweet Sighs that from my bosom heave,
To Love You henceforth and to You Forever cleave.
Though Love as such in Time does speak of age,
And in this modern light oft’ turns the page,
To chide such Love and call it out-of-date,
Or with tempest blustering mock and so berate,
Yet I, in Love, Stand against the brazen storm,
And while others freeze, in Your Embrace, Am Warm.
