In Your Presence

Door

Sweet, Let All anticipation come,
To stand at the door of my Heart and Knock,
Waiting in Breathless Yearning for the Answer
Only You can Give.
In Supplication I come,
My uncertainties Cast Asunder,
And like a lowly beggar, do Kneel at Your feet,
Oh Lord of my Heart,
Heart of my Love,
To Know Your Simplest Pleasure.
For in the hours of Night and Day,
When Shadows hide and Brilliance Play,
There my Life finds meaningless abstraction
if not in Your Presence.

  1. Just to ask: have you made a decision to restrict yourself to spiritual/Christian posts on a Sunday? This is in no way a criticism. I don’t have a problem should that be the case.I am simply curious, plus I feel as I am still in the process of getting to know where you are coming from.

    1. No I certainly have not made that concious decision, but it does seem that way. However, in actuality, I wrote this with the intention of it being a love poem. The fact that it can also be perceived as a prayer is merely by chance.
