Love’s Miracle

letting_go

Hesitant Feeling,
Inconstant Fear,
What makes me cringe
When Love draws Near?

Hiding hurts,
Long infesting,
Makes me impatient,
Endlessly testing.

Unspoken limits,
Ambiguous doubts,
Make me stoically deaf
When Love Patiently Shouts.

Yet when Love is Faithful,
Constant and True,
These misgivings shatter
and Joy Breaks Through.

Perplexity Settles,
Irony Disappears,
Loveโ€™s Miracle of Faith
Diminishes Fears.

      1. From Alfred Lord Tennyson’s poem In Memoriam:27, 1850:

        I hold it true, whate’er befall;
        I feel it, when I sorrow most;
        ‘Tis better to have loved and lost
        Than never to have loved at all.
