If you’ve stopped by DeviantArt or my Facebook page lately, I’m sure you’ve seen the Mysturreal Tarot deck I’ve been working on (and posting like crazy). 78-cards is a bit daunting, but early interest in the deck inspired me to focus and really put some thought into its creation.
I’ve always been interested in the artwork for tarot cards. Mystical, a little, dark, haunting, but at the same time extremely beautiful, the artwork of cards I’ve seen in the past have always captured my imagination. Then, one afternoon, I was working on a prompt in Midjourney to create a mystically surreal character image, one that is both beautiful, haunting, surreal and slightly grotesque, yet filled with light. The results literally made me sit back in my chair (which I never do, cuz I’m short and can’t reach if I do!)
This is the image (which I haven’t used —yet) that led me to the creation of the Mysturreal Tarot Card deck. A unique and diligently crafted tarot deck with a mystically surreal theme brightened with light. Each of the 78 cards is portrayed as a journey of spiritual empowerment, filled with love, balance, and a deep sense of divine guidance.
The vision behind the Mysturreal Tarot Deck is rooted in the belief that within each of us lies a rich tapestry of light and shadow, beauty and mystery, power and grace. We are a harmonious blend of these forces, and by embracing them, we awaken our true potential. When we focus our thoughts, words, and actions on the radiant aspects of positivity, we ignite the power within to manifest our dreams and shape a brighter worldānot only for ourselves but for all those whose lives we touch. In this balance of energies, we discover the magic that connects us to the universe and to one another.
Interest in these cards has continued to grow, leading me into the initial phases of a Kickstarter Campaign, with the hopes of gaining enough backers to bring the project to life!
I am currently creating cards, and writing unique, empowering card descriptions with the intent of producing a companion book for the deck. This book will include a full color photo of each card, it’s Upright meanings for general, love, career, finance and a reversed card meaning, as well as interpretations, meditations for reflection, and suggestions for positive actions to take. The interpretations will highlight the blessings of introspection while encouraging a harmonious connection to the world and others.
In addition to the tarot deck, I am envisioning a 45-card companion deck of Sacred Invocations, each card adorned with unique artwork and infused with divine affirmations to guide and uplift your spiritual journey. Together, they will serve as a powerful tool for inner alignment, awakening your highest potential, and bringing forth the success and harmony your soul seeks.
Rewards are one of the best parts of supporting a Kickstarter Campaign, and I’m already working on ways to express my gratitude for supporters, such as this beautiful Tarot mat, which will be available only through my campaign. Do I Use AI?
My art is Synthography, which uses AI only as a starting point. I then utilize a multi-step process that includes multiple digital and photo editing tools to provide layering to the subject matter, setting mood and ambiance, creating enhancement &/or reduction, and augmentation or elimination. By integrating outside media, digital overlays, filtering, sculpting, and manipulations, I composite a final result that generates emotion, explores spirituality and perception, and invites imagination.
