Each Easter my Mother makes Dutch Cakes for Easter, a labour of Love that takes the entire day. Sweet bread made with potatoes for moistness, hand made, raised twice, formed into cakes and then covered with sugary, buttery crumbs and baked until golden brown and utterly delicious.

Oooohhh, looks lovely, oooohhh I love those close up pictures, ooohhh the recipe that you’ve left reads more like one of your glorious poems… Hang on a minute… It is one of your glorious poems… Hey!!! Me want recipe… What are you trying to do to me… Now come on Morgan!!! play fair…
Send me some please, my address is Mark His Garden With His Glorious Rhododendron, Mark’s Garden, Mark’s House, Inverness, Scotland…
Thank you kindly.
Oh by the way, on the third picture down, at the bottom of it, just off right to the centre there appears to be an apparition of a small Easter bunny (although at first I did think that it looked like a map of Britain). This cake with it’s timely apparition is surely Holy and must not be eaten. Luckily for you I have a friend who works in the local University in the “Images Appearing On Food” department, I’ve been in touch with him and he recommends that you send the aforementioned Holy Cake posthaste to me now so that I may take it to him and let him examine it. Same address as above, thank you.

Mark, you had me laughing all day with this one 🙂 You are Precious! I may just have to dig out the recipe and post it…though once you try to make it you may not be any happier than before I sent it! Rather a lot of work, that.,..but so worth it in the end…as you can see. Dont worry, I ate some for you today 🙂
