Friday Fun- For Giggles

For Giggles

In the Spirit of Creativity, not to mention Friday Fun, I should like to propose a challenge and provide an opportunity for you to challenge…ME and, perchance, me to challenge YOU! Just to see where Inspiration leads; to follow the yellow brick road off to the Land of Oz. To take the One Ring and, in Fellowship, head for the hills! To gaze pensively round the room, gather a few unnoticed tidbits, and, together, formulate a summation. (you see where I’m heading here, right?)

I enjoy seeking the inspiring thought, image, sounds, music or art to turn loose the flow of words, yet, often, the search itself can become tiring and tired, on a Friday, is the last thing I should like to be! I imagine you sometimes may encounter the same dilemma yourself, maybe, possibly. Therefore, I should like to suggest a partnership, a collaboration, if you will, just For Giggles.

However, in order for today’s Friday Fun to work, to be in any manner amusing, interesting or FUN, I need Your help. Yep, YOU. Why, you ask (Yes, I see that quizzical expression creeping back onto your face…bear with me ) Because it’s a game I’m suggesting and, hopefully, it shall soon be a-foot!

It’s simple really: in the comments field below, YOU will suggest s topic, present an idea, send me an image, (throw me a bone?), propose a notion for a poem and, in return, I shall have to write you at least a verse or two about your prompt. Then, once completed, you may (if you wish to, though you are in no way obliged) use the initial verse or verses to complete the poem for your own blog. (hopefully, linking back to me so I can see where our insanity…er, I mean inspiration, has led us.) I am hoping this test of creativity sounds as fun to you as it sounds to me, because without your participation, it cannot and will not be much fun at all.

There’s nothing in it, I admit. No fame, no glory. It’s just a whim. Just a bit of lyrical sport, an exercise in spontaneity and inventiveness; nevertheless, I do hope that, at the very least, a few of you will humour me and play along. For giggles!

(I won’t impose a long list of rules, because how fun is that, but do be assured that I will disregard suggestions of a violent, graphic or Mature nature, as that is not my thing.) Thank You !

  1. One real reason that I should finally grow up after 60+ years. Actually I don’t want to, but what should I tell my grandchildren?
Haven’t met an adequate Adult role model yet, so why hurry?
