Being Thankful is not always easy, especially this year. The trials and challenges of life can overwhelm and drive spikes of anger, resentment, fear, and doubt into the Essence of each of us. Sometimes there seems very little to be Thankful for, but finding Gratitude in our hearts is often the first step towards Blessings. The Power of Positivity has been proven time and time again, whether it is a smile in the face of a scowl; a kind word in response to unkind ones, or an act of kindness in the void of apathy.
Poetry challenges are delightful, but one thing has become Very clear to me as the year comes to a close. The direction in which we are traveling is changing and the Source of Inspiration that Sings its Words of Music into my Spirit has been suggesting a very specific Daily Challenge for Booknvolume. Although my poetry and writing is by its very nature Positive, I wish to underscore that optimistic perspective by making a few changes.
So, starting tomorrow, I will be offering a Daily Thankfulness Journal Challenge and, more importantly, I invite you to share in the challenge.
How? Easy!
Find at least One Thing for which you are Thankful Each Day.(even something as simple as clean, fresh water, a warm house, a car that works, a job you don’t necessarily enjoy…)
Using your blog, post a picture of that Blessing or some visual representation thereof, as well as an explanation through some form of writing, whether poetry, prose, parable or prolixity (as is my particular penchant) and Pass it on.
I hope you will join me in this endeavor of expressing Gratitude each day. You may discover through the challenge a wealth of Blessings you never knew you possessed.
