.
The house was old, a shadow of its former splendor. Shadows seeped into its corners and cobwebs crossed its many halls, the only traffic those once busy corridors now saw. A pale spectacle of late afternoon sunlight coaxed its way through the window perilously perched above the grand staircase, illuminating the past along with the present.
She stood, gazing upwards as clairvoyance whispered round her; suspirations of yesterday floating upon the stale atmosphere like ghosts. Suspended above the stairs in a fragment of memory only she could see, a banner of sparkling light transposed the dimness.
Glimmers of yesterday, shouting.

Great piece
My eyes are too old to read grey type on a blue background. Maybe it’s just me but it’s something to consider if you want your audience to linger on your site.
