OctPoWriMo – Surfeit

Red-autumn-morning

Walking in the Autumn Morn,
September chill upon the Air,
Late, Sol rises from the Celestial Bourn
To Kiss the Frost with Brazen Flair.

Smiling Morning, Singing Light,
Huddled in Daybreak’s Dulcet Affection,
Linger Warm upon my shoulder
Like sugar and spice Confection.

Silence Rouses from slumbering,
Midnight turns her Cheek away,
Daytide stretches forth her Hand,
In an Unsullied Surfeit Array.

  1. Amazing! I could feel the autumn chill as I read your very descriptive verse. Autumn is such a glorious time of year.
    “Midnight turns her Cheek away,
    Daytide stretches forth her Hand,”
How do you do that. In my mind, the only words I could come up with are as night turns to day. LOL 😀

    1. The Autumn chill is a delicious one…rather than the Winter chill that is a bit more biting, somehow. I do confess, and I hope I do not sound in any way conceited, but the words the pour from my Spirit and Mind into poetry amaze and Bless me, I think, as much as they do everyone else 😀 Many Many times I’ve written something, re-read it, and ended up crying. It comes from other places, surely, yet I am EVER Thankful for it…And YOU!!! 🙂
