The Soul My Love Knows

The Soul my Love knows

There is a Passion You Stir in Me
As Deep and as Broad as the Endless Sea,
It moves Within,
A Shifting Tide of Devotion,
It Swells and Sighs,
Like the Breathing Ocean.

There is Affection You Kindle in Me,
As Vast an Expanse as Fair Eternity,
It Fills my Heart
With its Dulcet Pleasure,
Igniting Desire
Like Priceless Treasure.

There is Adoration Abiding in Me,
Waiting for You to Set it Free,
It O’rewhelms my Spirit
With its Depth and Repose,
Longing for You,
The Soul my Love Knows.

  1. In Doris Lessing’s book Love, Again one of her characters says: ”
There are as many shades of being in love as there are gradation of colour on cards in the paint shop.”
Your poem takes in all the shades. Very lovely:)
