Ta! Cheers! Thanks! WORD!

No matter how you might say it, THANK YOU always feels like a rather insignificant phrase when attempting to convey the emotion, appreciation, and (in this case, anyway) the delight that is felt. It might seem a bit pat, a bit commonplace, a bit overly rehearsed, or what have you, but Thank You, in my Book(nvolume) is never not worth saying.

Salvatore at Freedom of the Heart (found at: http://freedomoftheheart.com/) has nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. In all honesty, I am honoured, as Sal and I have only known each other a few months of blogging, yet in that time I have been inspired and blessed by his beautiful blog. His poetry is so express, so touching; the artwork he chooses so uniquely lovely and I always feel a sense of calm and rejuvenation after reading his words. Do take a moment to stop by his blog. Since there are a few stipulations to accepting this award, I shall get straight to it:

1. Driving Miss Daisy (Morgan Freeman, Jessica Tandy. No contest!)
2. Walk in the Clouds (Keanu Reeves without a single Dude uttered during the entire movie!)
3. Any Star Trek Movie (no big surprise there, right?)
4. The Polar Express (this is just Magic from Beginning to End, with Tom Hanks to Boot!)

7. Hamlet (You knew that was coming, right? If not, you should have.)

    1. that would be incredible 🙂 I think hearing them audibly bring an entirely new perspective…and to hear it from the poet is always sublime, knowing the precise inflection and emotion intended 🙂

    1. I must confess I enjoyed Mel Gibson’s. It was/is approachable and comprehensible, not as overstated as some. I thoroughly enjoyed Kenneth Branagh’s as well, but his delivery equally thoroughly disappointed me. It is as if he was just hurling the words out as quickly as he could.

      2. When it came out to theatres no one would go with me, so I went by myself. It was amazing, I just wished/wish he would slow the roll a little LOL….I guess thats the poet in my wanting to drink in the words slowly and savour them like a fine wine.

      3. God, the film would have been 8 hours long. Shakespeare, though at times appropriate, was not meant to go slow. Don’t forget the audience then was earred tyo that form of language and had no trouble following it. >KB

      4. This is true, of course. It was a 5 hour afternoon because there was actually an intermission. It was really amazing, shown in an old fashioned theater with an adjoining coffee house/cafe. Alone or no, it was a perfect afternoon 🙂

      5. I have Burton, Olivier, Gibson and I think Brannaughs far surpasses any of them. I agree that anyone who likes Hamlet should be made to watch R & G are Dead. It lends an amazing facet to the play as a whole. >KB Did you get the readings. I sent them to your email.
